JunkCarMap lists licensed junkyards, impound lots and tow companies, starting with Texas, and explains the rules for selling, scrapping and recovering a car.

The listings come from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, which licenses every vehicle storage facility, tow company and used auto parts recycler in the state. We refresh them from the state files and list only current licenses. Locations on the finder are based on each business's ZIP code, so distances are approximate.

The guides are checked against the agencies that set the rules (TxDMV, TDLR and the IRS) and dated. If you spot something wrong or out of date, email [email protected].
